Torben Kuhlmann – Mouse Landing Koblenz “The flying adventures by Torben Kuhlmann”

31.10.2020 – 30.05.2021

Torben Kuhlmann was born in 1982 in Sulingen, Lower Saxony. He studied illustration and communication design at the HAW Hamburg with focus on book illustration. In June 2012 he completed his studies with the children’s book “Lindbergh – The adventurous story of a flying mouse”. His debut book has received numerous international awards and was nominated for the German Youth Literature Award 2015. In July 2016 “Armstrong – The Adventurous Journey of a Mouse to the Moon” was published. Torben Kuhlmann’s books have been translated into over 30 languages to date. His latest stroke of genius is “Edison – The Mystery of the Lost Mouse Treasure”, published in August 2018 and number 1 on the SPIEGEL bestseller list. Torben Kuhlmann lives and works in Hamburg.

For the first time a selection of his best-known original drawings will be on show at the Ludwig Museum. These include illustrations for Edison, Lindberg, Armstrong (2018). It is always well-known role models that he transfers to his small but shrewd mouse heroes. Humorous, funny and warm-hearted illustrations. The drawings are accompanied by a reading by Bastian Pastewka, the provision of audio books (audio sequences) and film clips (requested). An absolute pleasure for young and old.
