Workshop Series with Stefanie Brüning
In a series of progressive workshops, paper becomes more than just a surface for colour; it serves as an independent material and the starting point for artistic exploration. Using scissors and scalpels, participants will, for example, deconstruct prints of selected artworks, reassemble them in new fragmentary compositions, and transform them into three-dimensional forms. This process reverses the conventional hierarchies of painting, delving into the “innards of the image” to discover something new and unexpected. The interplay of positive and negative forms, planes and lines, light and shadow transforms two-dimensional source images into sculpture.
