Introduction for art educators to the exhibition “Hidden Beauty. Arne Quinze”

02.10.2024 , 14:00

On Thursday, 2 October 2024 at 2 pm there will be an introduction to the exhibition “Hidden Beauty. Arne Quinze” for teachers of the visual arts. The tour is aimed specifically at teachers and educators and will be organised by Hans Artmann, painter, art and museum educator at the Ludwig Museum.

Arne Quinze is inspired by the wildflower garden that surrounds his studio – a refuge of biodiversity that he has cultivated for more than a decade. He is interested in biodiversity and the free creativity of nature. He documents the complex interplay between strength and vulnerability and captures the essence of life in all its forms.

Deeply inspired by the painters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, he is fascinated by the possibilities of contemporary painting, which allow him to seek out and express the seemingly invincible forces of nature. It is this concept of hidden beauty that is evident in all the masters of past centuries, particularly in the paintings of Monet, Manet, Cézanne, Derain and Picasso, as well as the concept of transition, fragility and death, as in the works of Helene Frankenthaler, Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon.

The Ludwig Museum in Koblenz is showing an art installation whose sculptural elements from various media merge into an immersive overall corpus by means of AI-controlled four-axis video, audio and light multimedia installations, as well as a series of large-format paintings presented to the public for the first time and sketches by the artist.

Registration by 12 noon on the Saturday before by email to: kasse.ludwig-museum@stadt.koblenz.de or call 0261/129 2406 during opening hours.

Costs: Museum admission and 3 euros for the guided tour. Please bring your school certificate with you.
