Polina Pastroma. Fairytales from Ukraine. Wo Aquarelle zum Leben erwachen

18.05.2025 – 06.07.2025

On International Museum Day, works by an artist will be shown whose paintings depict impressions from both Ukraine and her current place of residence in Germany.

Polina Pastroma, born on October 22, 2004, in Dnipro, Ukraine, studied fine arts at the Dnipro Art College from 2020 to 2024. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, she was forced to leave her hometown and move to Germany. Nevertheless, she successfully continued her studies online and graduated in 2024.

She mainly paints watercolors, which are characterized by a variety of bright colors, but she also works with oil paints, among other things.

The museum will exhibit a collection of paintings on various themes from 2022 to 2025. These include landscapes (from Ukraine and Germany), still lifes, mythological figures, and Ukrainian culture. She will also present a book cover illustrated by her for the French translation of the Ukrainian fairy tale drama “The Forest Song” (“Лісова пісня”) by Lesya Ukrainka (translated by Tetyana Popova-Bonnal).
